Watching your baby spit up frequently can be stressful, but for many infants, it is a normal part of development. If your baby is gaining weight well, meeting milestones, and having enough wet diapers, frequent spit-ups are often just a laundry-intensive inconvenience.
To manage this, try burping your baby before, mid-way through, and after feeds. Keeping your baby in an upright position for 20-30 minutes after eating can also help. Tummy time is highly recommended, as it strengthens the gut muscles, which may improve reflux symptoms over time. For those with severe GERD, consult your pediatrician about positioning or potential dietary adjustments. While it can feel like you are constantly changing clothes, remember that this phase usually improves significantly by 9 months as your baby becomes more mobile and their digestive system matures.
