Choosing the right mattress for pregnancy and postpartum

While memory foam is popular, many parents find it too soft for the back support needed during pregnancy and the recovery phase after a C-section. A firmer mattress, such as those made of coir or firm bonded foam, is often recommended to alleviate back pain associated with breastfeeding and carrying a newborn. If you are concerned about your baby, firm surfaces are generally safer for infants, though most parents find that standard nursery mattresses meet these needs regardless of the adult mattress chosen.
