FAQ Sleep 6-12 months1-2 years

Does having the baby sleep on the dad's side help with night waking?

Many parents find that babies wake up less frequently when they sleep next to their father rather than their breastfeeding mother. This is often because the baby associates the mother's scent with feeding, whereas the father's presence can be calmer and less likely to trigger a feeding-to-sleep association. While the transition may take a few nights, it can be an effective way to improve sleep for the whole family.
