Handling a skin reaction to food
If your baby develops a skin rash after eating, observe them closely for signs of respiratory distress, fever, or extreme discomfort. A localized rash around the mouth can sometimes be a contact reaction to acidic foods rather than a systemic allergy, but any suspected food reaction should be discussed with your pediatrician to determine the cause. If the baby is breathing normally and the reaction is mild, stay calm and monitor for changes while preparing to consult your doctor the next day.
