How can I help my baby accept a bottle if they have only been breastfed?

Bottle refusal is common, so consistency and patience are key. Try introducing the bottle when the baby is sleepy, or have a caregiver offer the feed while the breastfeeding parent remains out of sight to reduce the baby's distraction or preference for the breast. Use a slow-flow, breast-mimicking nipple and practice paced bottle feeding to ensure the baby doesn't develop a strong flow preference. If resistance continues, avoid forcing the issue to prevent negative associations, and consider trying different nipple brands or cups like a sipper instead.
