How can I help my baby during teething if they seem to be in pain?

Teething typically starts between 4-7 months, characterized by drooling, chewing on toys, and crankiness. If your baby seems distressed, avoid rushing to medication; instead, try offering a clean, cold teether or a chilled, firm fruit slice like a carrot (under supervision) to soothe their swollen gums. If the fussiness is intense or accompanied by a fever, consult your pediatrician, as these may be signs of an ear infection or other issues rather than just teething.
