How can I help my toddler learn to use scissors?

Introducing scissors is a wonderful way to build fine motor skills, and many parents find success starting around 18 months. Use child-safe, blunt-tipped plastic scissors and provide simple materials like playdough sheets or thick paper for your toddler to practice snips. The goal at this early stage is building coordination rather than precision. Always provide close supervision, and remember that consistent practice will help them gain control as their hand strength and dexterity develop.
