How can I identify and manage a nursing strike in my baby?

A nursing strike is a sudden refusal to feed at the breast, often triggered by teething, illness, or a developmental shift. During this time, continue to pump frequently to maintain your supply and offer pumped milk via bottle or cup. Try latching when the baby is drowsy or in a calm, distraction-free environment. If the baby persists in refusing, avoid force-feeding, as this can increase their distress; remain calm and persistent, as most strikes are temporary and resolve within a few days to a week.
