How can I transition my 13-month-old from a bottle to a cup?

Transitioning away from a bottle requires patience and consistency. You can start by introducing a straw cup or a small, open steel cup during mealtimes, modeling the behavior yourself to help them learn the sucking or sipping motion. Since your toddler is over a year old, solids are their primary nutrition, so do not feel pressured to rush the milk intake if they spill—keep the experience low-pressure and continue offering the cup regularly until they adapt.
