How do I safely trim my newborn's fingernails?
Newborns often scratch their faces with their sharp, fast-growing nails, but trimming them can be intimidating. Many parents find electric nail trimmers much safer and easier to use than traditional clippers, as they don't leave sharp edges. The best time to trim is while your baby is in a deep sleep, as they are less likely to move. If you feel uncomfortable doing it yourself, you can also ask your pediatrician or nurse to trim them during routine checkups or vaccination visits.
