Is it necessary to use a cushion and footrest with a high chair?

For many parents, a cushion is a very helpful addition during the early months of learning to sit unsupported, as it keeps smaller babies secure and comfortable. Similarly, a footrest provides essential stability, though it may take a few months for your baby's feet to reach it comfortably. If your baby is on the larger side or feels too snug in the cushion, you can skip it or look for a footrest adjustment to ensure the best support for their posture during meals.
