FAQ Sleep 6-12 months

Is it normal for a 6-to-8-month-old to wake up more frequently due to motor development?

Yes, frequent night wakings are a very common phase when a baby begins rolling, army crawling, or attempting to sit up. These new motor skills often lead to 'practice' sessions during the night, which can temporarily disrupt sleep patterns. The best approach is to continue providing plenty of tummy time during the day to help them burn energy and master these skills, as this phase usually passes once the child becomes more accustomed to their new mobility.
