FAQ Health 6-12 months

Is it normal for a 7-month-old to sweat excessively, even in cool temperatures?

Babies often have a higher resting body temperature and are less efficient at heat regulation than adults, which frequently leads to excessive sweating, especially around the head. To keep your baby comfortable, dress them in light, breathable cotton or muslin layers and ensure the room is well-ventilated. Even if you don't have air conditioning, maintaining good airflow and ensuring the baby isn't overdressed can help significantly. If you are concerned that the sweating is truly excessive or accompanied by other symptoms like lethargy, consult your pediatrician, but for most, this is just a normal developmental stage.
