Is it safe for infants to sleep with a pillow?

According to safety guidelines, pillows and blankets pose a significant risk of suffocation and should be avoided for as long as possible. Newborns and infants do not need a pillow for comfort, as their head proportions differ from adults; using one is generally unnecessary. Most parents find that children do not actively seek or benefit from a pillow until they are toddlers, typically around 16 months or older.
