Managing baby's hitting and hair pulling

Sudden pinching, scratching, or hair pulling in 8-10 month olds is often a normal, playful exploration of cause-and-effect as their mobility increases. To manage this, keep their nails trimmed and offer various textures to redirect their sensory needs, such as fleece blankets, velcro-covered toys, or tassels. When your baby pulls your hair, gently hold their hands for 5-10 seconds to reinforce that it is not allowed, remaining calm and avoiding shouting so it does not become a game.
