Safely clearing a baby's blocked nose

To help a baby with congestion, you can use steam by running a hot shower in a closed bathroom while sitting with your baby on your lap, or by placing a steamer in the room with the door closed; never direct steam at the baby. You can leave a fan on, but wait about 15–20 minutes before turning on the AC to avoid sudden temperature shifts. If mucus persists after steaming, a nasal aspirator can be used to gently clear the nasal passages.
