Should I switch to Stage 2 formula once my baby turns 6 months old?
Starting solids at 6 months does not mean you need to immediately switch to a 'Stage 2' formula. Breast milk or formula remains the primary source of nutrition until 12 months. Solids are meant to complement milk feeds to fulfill iron and zinc needs, not to replace them. Most experts recommend keeping your current feeding schedule and simply adding one solid meal per day, ensuring a gap of about an hour between milk and solid feeds to allow for a healthy appetite.
