Should newborn clothes be washed in Dettol?

Pediatricians generally do not recommend using Dettol on baby clothes as the strong scent and chemicals can be harsh on a newborn's sensitive skin. Simply washing new clothes with a gentle, fragrance-free baby detergent is sufficient. For added sanitation, many parents choose to iron the clothes after they have dried.
