What is the best way to handle nighttime diapering with cloth diapers?

When using cloth diapers overnight, many parents find success by layering two inserts or boosters to increase absorbency. To check if a change is needed during the night, you can gently slide two fingers between the diaper and the baby's skin to feel for wetness. It is important to change the diaper immediately if the baby has pooped, regardless of the time, to prevent rashes. Diaper cream is generally not necessary unless your baby shows signs of irritation or a pre-existing rash.
