What should I do if I see blood streaks in my baby's stool while on a dairy elimination diet?

Seeing blood streaks can be distressing, but it is a known occurrence during the healing process of Cow Milk Protein Allergy (CMPA). It can take 4 to 6 weeks of strict dairy elimination for a baby's gut to fully heal. Be diligent about checking for 'hidden' dairy in packaged foods (look for labels like 'may contain milk'), and continue breastfeeding if possible, as it is often easier on the gut. If the episodes become frequent or the baby shows signs of distress, consult your gastroenterologist or pediatrician to discuss the progress.
