What should I do if my toddler gets a cut on their lip?

For a lip cut, the first priority is to stop the bleeding by applying gentle, consistent pressure with a clean, cold cloth for at least 10 minutes. If the bleeding does not stop after this time, or if the wound is deep, it is best to visit a hospital as they may need stitches. Avoid applying substances like turmeric (haldi) to open cuts. Instead, a simple coconut oil-based lip balm or beeswax-based product can help create a protective film over the wound, which is generally safe if ingested.
