What should I eat during the postpartum period?

While traditional beliefs often suggest strict diets for 45 days, many parents find they can return to a normal, healthy diet much sooner once they are cleared by their doctor. The main priority is focusing on high-protein and high-fiber foods to support healing and digestion. If you find certain foods—like spicy dishes or specific vegetables—cause gas or acidity, it is wise to avoid them temporarily. Staying well-hydrated is also essential for recovery and overall well-being.
