Most nannies are excellent caregivers but not educators. Expecting them to teach colors, read books, or plan developmental activities is usually asking too much. What works better is providing a daily list of 2-3 simple activities, rotating toys and books regularly, and supplementing with a few hours of playschool for structured learning. If a nanny is reliable and caring, that is valuable — enrichment can come from playschool, parent time, and peer interaction.
