What should I know about my baby's weight gain and protein intake?

If your pediatrician has identified your baby as underweight, avoid obsessing over weight gain in the short term. Instead, focus on providing a balanced, nutrient-dense diet consisting of proteins (eggs, paneer, cheese, legumes, tofu), healthy fats (ghee, nut powders, nut butters), and grains. Incorporate these into regular family meals like khichdi, dosas, or parathas. It is rarely necessary to increase fat content alone; focus on a wide variety of nutrients and consult a professional if weight stagnation continues over a longer period.
