FAQ FeedingMilestones 6-12 months

When is it appropriate to introduce a sippy cup to my baby?

It is generally recommended to introduce an open cup or a straw cup to help with oral development once your baby begins solids, usually around 7 months of age. While some caregivers prefer spoons for the very first few months, introducing a small open cup or a straw cup helps your baby learn to manage their own sips. Practice by role-modeling how to drink and moving the cup toward and away from their lips so they can control the flow.
