Why does my baby seem more excited to see others than me?
It is completely normal for a baby to show more excitement for grandparents or other caregivers. Psychologists refer to this as the 'safe haven' effect: your baby feels so secure and attached to you that they can afford to express their biggest, most raw emotions—like clinginess or fussiness—only with you. Seeing them happy with others is actually a positive sign of their social development and shows they are secure in their environment. Continue bonding through play, singing, and skin-to-skin contact, and know that your role as their primary safe space is irreplaceable.
