FAQ Sleep 3-6 months

Why is my 4-month-old suddenly taking shorter naps?

A sudden shift to shorter, 40-minute naps is often a hallmark of the 4-month sleep regression. During this phase, babies' sleep cycles are maturing, and they may struggle to connect sleep cycles or self-soothe. Focus on keeping the sleep environment quiet and consistent, and remember that while it can feel overwhelming, this phase is typically temporary and usually settles within a couple of weeks as your baby adjusts to their new sleep patterns.
