Dropping night feeds at 9 months - how?
misty-sloth · 3/3/2026
Still 2-3 night feeds at 9 months. He's eating 3 solid meals + snacks during the day. HV says he doesn't need them nutritionally. How do I drop them without 3 weeks of misery?

Dropped from 3 to 1 by gradually reducing the time on the boob each night over a week. Final one dropped with husband doing patting/water.
Honestly we just waited. Stopped on their own around 11 months.
We did 'dream feed' at 10pm then partner handled wakeups with water and cuddles. Took 5 nights.
Make sure last feed before bed is a full one and he's getting iron-rich foods in the day.
