Nanny vs nursery for under-1 - what swung your decision?

Going back to work at 12 months. Nanny is £18/hr, nursery is £85/day. Nanny much more flexible. Nursery more social. What was the deciding factor for you?

Sickness! Nanny when ill = no childcare. Nursery covers regardless. Huge factor with two parents working.

Nanny share with another family - splits cost and adds social element.

Nanny first year for sleep schedule consistency, then nursery at 12-18mo for socialisation. Hybrid worked.

Nursery social benefits start around 18mo IMO. Under 1 they're not really 'social' yet.

Cost-wise nursery often cheaper if you have one child. Nanny better for two.
