Teething is a major milestone, but it’s often a difficult time for both the baby and the parents. When those first teeth begin to push through, babies often experience gum soreness, leading to fussiness and reduced interest in food.
One popular strategy among parents to provide relief is the use of silicone nibblers. These tools allow babies to gnaw on them, which applies gentle pressure to the sore gums. To take it a step further, many parents recommend placing the nibbler in the freezer for a short while before use. The cold temperature acts as a natural anesthetic, numbing the inflamed gums and providing quick, soothing relief.

Beyond nibblers, keep an eye on your baby’s comfort level. If your baby seems significantly distressed, is running a high fever, or stops eating/drinking entirely, please consult your pediatrician. While teething is a normal part of development, it’s always best to rule out other potential causes for sudden changes in behavior or appetite.
