Watching your baby enter the teething phase can be a mix of excitement and challenge, especially when they start experiencing discomfort. If your baby is around 4–6 months old and showing signs of teething, here are a few gentle ways to provide relief:
- Temperature Therapy: Cold, clean carrots or cucumbers can offer a soothing sensation for aching gums. Always supervise your baby while they are exploring these items.
- Teethers: Silicone teethers are a parent favorite because they are easy to grip and clean. Water-filled teethers, which can be chilled in the refrigerator (never the freezer), are also effective.
- Hygiene: Keep teethers clean by sterilizing them regularly. For babies who like to put everything in their mouth, a consistent cleaning schedule for both teethers and toys is essential.
- Comfort: If your baby is biting during nursing due to teething pain, try distracting them with a cold teether right before or after a feed.

Note: Always consult your pediatrician before administering any medication for teething pain to ensure it is appropriate for your baby's age and health status.
