Bottle flow issues with newborns

If your newborn is coughing during feeds, the flow rate of the nipple may be too fast. Ensure you are using a 'slow flow' or 'newborn' (Stage 0 or 1) nipple. Practicing paced bottle feeding—where you pause for a few seconds during the feed—can also help the baby manage the flow better and prevent gulping.
