Does pumping breast milk reduce my supply?

Pumping does not inherently reduce your supply as long as you maintain a regular schedule. The key is to match your pumping sessions to your baby’s natural feeding rhythm; if you want to express while also nursing, try to pump about 2.5 to 3 hours after a feed. The body produces milk based on demand, so as long as you continue to remove milk frequently, your supply should remain stable.
