How can I get better sleep while room-sharing with my baby?

Many parents find that they suffer from 'hyper-vigilance' when sleeping in the same room as their baby, which can lead to light or interrupted rest. If your proximity to your infant is keeping you awake, consider using a white noise machine to mask small household sounds or opting for a separate bassinet if you are currently bed-sharing. Some parents find that shifting the baby to their own crib in the room helps create just enough distance to feel at ease while still maintaining proximity. Remember that your own rest is vital for your well-being, so prioritize creating a sleep environment where you feel secure enough to let your guard down.
