How can I help my toddler cope with separation anxiety during the first week of preschool?

Separation anxiety is a normal part of starting school and usually resolves within 2-3 weeks. To make the transition easier, establish a consistent 'goodbye' ritual, such as drawing matching hearts on both your hands to connect when you reunite. Read books that mirror the school routine to normalize the experience, and always remain positive and enthusiastic during drop-off. Reaffirm that you will return, and ensure you are punctual for pick-up to reinforce your child's trust in the routine.
