How can I manage separation anxiety during the first weeks of preschool?

Separation anxiety is a normal developmental phase and usually resolves within 2–3 weeks of starting school. To ease the transition, create a simple 'goodbye' ritual, such as drawing matching hearts or shapes on both of your wrists to stay 'connected.' Read books together that normalize the school routine, and always announce your departure clearly, reaffirming that you will return. Most importantly, remain consistent and cheerful during drop-offs, as your toddler looks to you to gauge whether the new environment is a safe place.
