How do I deal with postpartum loneliness and loss of identity?

What you are experiencing has a name: matrescence — the identity and emotional shift that happens in motherhood. It is very real and extremely common. Conversations with your partner becoming purely logistical, never-ending anxiety, and feeling disconnected from yourself are all part of it. Small steps help: find moments in the day for something just for yourself, even a longer bath or a quick walk. Therapy is highly recommended and helps enormously. You are not weak — you are mothering inside systems that are isolating and under-resourced.
