How do I know if I need to see a doctor for heavy postpartum periods?

Postpartum periods can be irregular and heavy as your hormones regulate, but they should generally stabilize over time. If you are using excessive pads (e.g., 5 XXL pads per day), feel significant weakness, or experience flow that is drastically heavier than what you consider normal for yourself, it is worth monitoring for a few days. If the heavy bleeding continues beyond a few days or you feel symptomatic, always consult your gynecologist to rule out complications.
