How long is postpartum bleeding considered normal?

Postpartum bleeding can last up to 45 days, and for many, it becomes quite light as time passes. However, you should consult your gynecologist if you are soaking through a pad completely in a couple of hours or if you notice blood clots larger than a golf ball, as these can be signs of a concern.
