How do I manage Hand Foot Mouth Disease with a newborn in the house?

Keep the newborn isolated in one specific bedroom with minimal visitors for at least a week. Wash hands thoroughly before touching the baby. Do not let infected toddlers share toys or exchange saliva with the baby. Breastfeeding helps build the newborn's immunity. For the infected toddler, Hicope syrup, Calapure lotion, and Zytee gel help with itching and soreness. A bath with neem leaves and turmeric provides relief. HFMD is rare in adults but not impossible — the caring parent should ideally focus on the newborn while the partner manages the sick toddler.
