FAQ Feeding 6-12 months1-2 years

How should I handle my baby refusing a specific meal?

It is common for babies to have preferences, but you can balance variety with nutrition by keeping a reliable 'backup' meal that can be prepared in 5-10 minutes, such as a simple porridge or mash. Offer the new food alongside a familiar, well-liked item to encourage exposure without the pressure. As your baby grows and approaches 8-12 months, you can gradually reduce reliance on backups to discourage picky eating, but remember that mealtime should remain a low-stress exploration of new flavors.
