FAQ Feeding 6-12 months1-2 years

Is it normal for a baby to go through a period of low appetite and fussiness?

Yes, it is very common for babies, especially those around 8-12 months, to go through phases of reduced appetite due to teething, growth spurts, or post-illness recovery. During these times, they may refuse solids or even prefer specific textures. Focus on hydration—breastmilk, formula, or coconut water—and avoid force-feeding, which can create a negative association with meals. Offer foods in different temperatures or textures, such as finger foods if they are exploring, and practice patience; these phases are usually temporary and will pass within a few days to a week.
