FAQ Feeding 6-12 months

Is it normal for nursing sessions to become much shorter around 10 months?

It is very common for nursing sessions to shorten significantly as your baby reaches this age. As babies grow, they become much more efficient at extracting milk, often finishing in just a few minutes what used to take much longer. Additionally, babies become more easily distracted by the world around them as they approach toddlerhood. As long as your little one seems satisfied, maintains a healthy number of wet diapers, and follows their usual growth curve, there is typically no cause for concern.
