Is it safe to consume coffee or tea while breastfeeding?

Moderate caffeine intake, typically 1-2 cups of coffee or tea per day, is generally considered safe for breastfeeding mothers. While caffeine does pass into breast milk, levels are low and usually do not affect the baby unless you notice signs of irritability or disrupted sleep. Since caffeine can be dehydrating, ensure you are drinking plenty of water throughout the day. If you are concerned, try having your caffeinated drink immediately after a nursing session to minimize the amount present in the milk for the next feed.
