FAQ Milestones 1-2 years

Is my 1-year-old’s sudden crying a phase or a cause for concern?

Sudden, unexplained crying in a 1-year-old can be a developmental phase as they begin to express big emotions or frustration. If your child is otherwise happy and playing normally, it is likely a transient behavior or linked to teething, minor colds, or developmental shifts. However, if the crying is accompanied by physical symptoms, lasts for an extended period, or if you feel the child is in pain, continue to monitor for other clues like fever or injury and trust your instincts by checking with your pediatrician if you remain worried.
