Managing breast pain after nursing

Sharp, needle-like pain in the breast after feeding, especially near the armpit, may be related to shifting supply or physical discomfort from breastfeeding. Ensure you are not over-draining the breast, and try using a cold compress after nursing or pumping to soothe the area. If the pain persists or you suspect an infection like thrush, it is wise to consult your healthcare provider for an evaluation.
