Should I stop my baby from thumb sucking at night?

If your baby uses thumb sucking to self-soothe back to sleep, many parents find it manageable in the short term. However, prolonged thumb sucking can hurt the skin and potentially affect dental development. Consider introducing a pacifier instead, as it is easier to wean off. If your baby rejects pacifiers, try different brands. For older toddlers still sucking, gentle discouragement and removing access during sleep can help break the habit over a few weeks.
