Should I wake my baby for a night feed?

Once your baby has regained their birth weight, you generally do not need to wake a sleeping infant for feeds unless specifically instructed by your pediatrician. Many babies start sleeping longer stretches naturally during the 2-4 month period. If you feel uncomfortable due to fullness, you can hand express or pump just enough to relieve the pressure rather than doing a full pump, which can signal your body to continue producing high volumes at night.
