FAQ Feeding 6-12 months

What are some safe, protein-rich vegetarian options for a 9-month-old?

For 9-month-olds, you can introduce cooked and mashed legumes like chole (chickpeas), rajma (kidney beans), and whole lentils, often enhanced with a tadka of ghee, garlic, and hing. Paneer, tofu, edamame, and peas are also excellent protein sources. These can be served mashed, mixed into khichdi, or even formed into veggie-packed cutlets with boiled potatoes, sweet potatoes, or raw bananas for easier handling.
