What is the 'milk ladder' approach for reintroducing dairy to children with CMPA?

The milk ladder is a structured, gradual process for reintroducing milk proteins to build tolerance, typically starting only after the child has been symptom-free for a significant period. It begins with small, highly-processed, and heavily baked quantities of dairy—such as a tiny portion of a cupcake or biscuit—where the milk protein structure is broken down by heat. If your child remains symptom-free after several days, you can slowly progress to more complex forms like cooked yogurt or paneer, always monitoring closely for reactions like rashes, stomach pain, or stool changes before moving to the next level.
